Over the last few years Stephen Hill has forged a reputation as one of the most original and entertaining songwriters in the Irish singer-songwriter scene. Having won the Hot Press Song Of The Fortnight in November 2003 for his song Down My Way, Stephen started writing the tracks for his debut album which is due out in early 2006. Tipping his hat to a variety of influences, including Nick Cave, Morrissey, Steve Earle and more locally Whipping Boy and Damien Dempsey, Stephen continues to develop a style that is original, quirky and timeless. Definitely one to watch out for.

When not doing his solo show Stephen is joined by The Special Forces, a loose collection of musicians who have formed a dynamic front to Stephen's songs. Recent members include Anthony Gibney on electric guitar, Phil Daly on bass, Jeremy Kehoe on drums, Micheál Flynn on accordion, Aidan on Clarinet, James Guilmartin on percussion, Ro' Byrne on electric guitar, Anthony Kenny on drums, Graham Birney on guitars and Liam McDermot on keys.
